Just giving a shout out from Blizzcon.. Really hoping to get more info for you guys today..
Yesterday was spent in lines, lines and more lines. So was not a very productive day.
We did get a chance to play around on the Blood Elves a little.. And no, we asked around
a bit and were told, the alliance race will NOT be released here at Blizzcon. We did get to
run around Noob land for a bit, tho we were not allowed to leave it. From what I understand,
the classes will be Warrior, Mage, Priest, and the Hunter or Rogue is still up in the air.
More about the special abilities later.. my special ability guy is still passed out. (was a long day!)
But I gotta get going.. am on the hotel puter at the moment and people are lookin at me funny! Ill check
back here when I arrive back at Blizzcon. And hopefully I can get some more info to you guys throughout
the rest of today.
Cheers!
Later that day...
Ok.. just got back from the character creation seminar.. Lotta love coming for Pallys it looks like, tho with the love will come some hard decisions for us that are used to hanging around in the back of the raids.
The main topics of the seminar was the histories about the characters and what the team is looking for in the future for the classes. A couple main points they brought up..
An already known fact that the level cap will be brought up to 70.
With the extended level class comes more talent points. Yes, the talent trees will be extended. They did not specify any specifics other then the trees are being extended.
They are looking at more class mechanics between levels 60 - 70. They did not go into depth about this statement.. :/
Increased racial differentation. Making racial specifics between all the races a bit more important.
Hero classes. Yes, they are working on hero classes. And yes, that is all they will say about it.
After the initial seminar, came a Q & A session, which to the angst of many, basically turned into a Pally discussion. 1.9 will see the birth of the new Pallys. Like we have had with several other classes so far. I.E. the recent Druid changes, Hunter changes.
They are putting a lot of focus on the high end Buff and Cleanse bots otherwise known as a level 60 Pally. They will be implementing a "group" class buff. I.E. target one group in a raid and all Warriors in that group get the buff, etc. They did not go into detail about this other then the buffs will now last 15 minutes instead of the current 5 minute timer. They are aware that Pallys spend a huge amount of time in a raid buffing and are set on rectifying this issue.
More to come later as well as a full report if and when I ever get home.
And that evening...
Here's a bit more info.. coming from the Items and Professions Seminar.
Fishing: The STV Fishing Tourney was actual put into the game to test out "nodes". Coming in 1.9 there will these nodes of fish all over the world. Be it a node of Firefin Fish, or Oily Blackmouth, or even treasure.
Enchanting: While there will still be no ability to sell enchants via the auction house, as they would like to maintain the difficulty rating of that profession, they will be implementing enchanting oils that will be auctionable. Oils that can increase spell damage or mana over time.
As well as implementing something called Nexus Crystals. Nexus Crystals will come from high level disenchants i.e a purple drop in MC etc. The reasoning for this is, say you have a raid going and a purple drops. One that noone in the raid can use, instead of disenchanting it for only some measly shards, the possibility of getting a Nexus Crystal can happen. As to what the Nexus Crystal does, I am not totally sure.. More on that later when I learn how to read my own handwriting.
Differentiating professions: The tailoring profession is still unknown at this time as to what they will do, but a tenative for Alchemy is to specialize in Elixers, Potions or Transmutes. They did stress, these specializations are NOT set in stone. But there will be some profession love in the near future.
Jewelcrafting: Jewelcrafting, as i am sure you are aware of, will be implemented in the new expansion. it will focus on Gems and Metals. Will be rings, necklaces and crowns, as well as jewelcraft only trinkets.
They will also be implementing Sockatable Mystic Gems. The reasoning behind this? It's too difficult to make everyone happy everywhere. So they will be giving us the ability to make ourselves happy. You want something with a + Stamina? Socket it with what you want.
They did state that not everything will be able to be socketed. Most likely only the newer items will be able to. They also stated that they WILL stack with enchants. They prefer not to kill the entire enchanting profession, so to not do this, you will be able to use both sockets and chants on items.
Another item type thing is a new property, known as Spell Penetration. Pretty much self explanatory.
