Warlocks are a magic class that revolves around Curses and their minions. They
have 4 main types of minions: Imp, Voidwalker, Succubus, and Felhunter. Each
minion has a specific and much specified role to fulfill in combat. Warlocks
are masters of Shadow and Fire, commanding both elements to be shaped to their
whims.
One of the most unique and beneficial skills of a Warlock is the Summoning
Portal. The Summoning Portal allows the Warlock and two party members to summon
another party member to their current location. This allows the party to come
together quicker and prevents people from all having to run to the same location
to meet.
Another useful and highly unique skill of the Warlock is the Soulstone. The
Soulstone can be placed on a character every 30 minutes and allows the target
to self-resurrect one time. This is the most useful skill of a Warlock in an
instance as it allows the party to have a Priest, Paladin, or Shaman Soulstoned
in the event that everyone dies.
Fear is perhaps the most used and strongest spell available to a Warlock. Other
classes get a fear spell, but only the Warlock gets a single target Fear spell
with no cooldown. This allows the Warlock to use Fear as both an offensive and
defensive weapon. Fear renders the target useless as they cannot control their
actions and run around in random directions throughout the duration of the Fear
effect.
Warlocks have 3 talent trees that focus on very different aspects of their
class. The Affliction tree accentuates the Warlock’s Curses and allows
them to cause much more damage over time. Demonology focuses on improving the
Warlock by improving the Warlock’s minions. Finally, Destruction boosts
the Warlock’s Fire and Shadow spells to provide them with more burst damage
on a target.
