History
Deep within the numerous islands of South Seas dwell the dark and
superstitious beings known as Jungle Trolls. Though not much is known
about the history of the Trolls; we do know that in ages past, a Troll
tribe known as the Darkspear lorded over the lands of Stranglethorn Vale.
Their kingdom has long since fallen, and like many of the races of Azeroth,
they desire to reclaim that lost glory.
Though the Trolls have a hatred for all beings, the Darkspear tribe was
forced to overcome these prejudices when they encountered Thrall and his
Mighty Horde. The Darkspear tribe was in the process of being wiped out by
the aquatic beings known as Murlocs, when Thrall and his soldiers came to
the rescue. In return for this deed the Darkspear tribe swore an oath of
eternal allegiance to the Horde.
Characteristics
Trolls in general,
are tall and muscular, with large tusks jutting from their mouths. Their skin
can range from a light sky blue, to a dark, almost purple, blue. Their manes
come in a variety of colors, ranging from green to purple. Trolls are suited
more for quick and dirty combat unlike their Orc and Tauren brothers.
Lifestyle
The Trolls live in a tribal society, led by the cunning Shadow Hunter,
Vol’jin. In general, the Troll thirst for war and proficiency in battle
has often led them to be mercenaries to the highest bidder. Currently the
Darkspear tribe owes allegiance to the Horde, and they are not ones to
break their bond. Their society is based on superstitious beliefs, and
black magic. The Darkspear Trolls makes their home in Durotar along with
their Orcish allies in the village of Sen’jin, which is named after
their fallen tribal elder and rests on the harsh rocky eastern coast. The
Darkspear tribe also calls home to the nearby lush jungles of the Echo
Isles.
Technology
Unlike the Humans and Dwarfs who rely on technology, the Trolls are
wilderness survivors, and given the most rudimentary of supplies they can
fashion base camps. Though they may live in “crude” quarters, their
smiths are able to fashion the deadliest of weapons.
The Art of War
The Trolls, like the Orcs, favor a much more offensive stance in combat
than the other races. When facing a Troll you will merely see a torrent of
voodoo magic or spears thrown your way. The Trolls are indeed peerless
when it comes to ferocity.
